The hobgoblins that survived regrouped in the dining hall. Weren't our little "heroes" so proud of themselves when a fireball wiped out some of the mooks! They were acting like they had accomplished something, never mind letting the orc escape. And they didn't even manage to kill the hobgoblin - Thugler, he calls himself - he tired himself out and bled to death. How pathetic.
And then, after nobly rescuing a few of the prisoners of the hobgoblins, they met Vordek. And oh, I hope the gods were watching, because those heroes sure could run fast when they encountered something a little frightening. All the more proof for my theory that they should not be running around in the underdark.
Before they left, they remembered that they had to venture beyond the barred door - and proceeded to walk straight into an ooze. Not only did they find themselves unable to get out, but a few of their friends had to dive in to save them!
