Episode 3: The Hobgoblin Keep



Tsk, tsk. Run, little mortals, run! Run away from the scary Underdark, and don't come back! You'll get eaten alive by the horrors that live down here. Or perhaps you won't. Perhaps you'll just curl up into a fetal position and cry for your mommy after a taste of what the Underdark is like. The dark is too oppressive. The tunnels too narrow. The denizens too unnatural... I've heard it all before. These children are no different from any of the others.

Of course, it is only natural that they'd be running to Lord Kyle, with his spacious quarters and luxurious estate. Everything is so soft and simple there. A place for weaklings. Lord Kyle couldn't even get his soldiers to deal with the simple manner of hobgoblins, so he had to ask these pathetic adventurers to do it for him. And they almost said no! Too hard, they thought. They're just hobgoblins!

They arrived... what a surprise they were in for! These mortals need to learn something of stealth. Charging at a castle in broad daylight? It's a wonder more of them didn't fall into that pit trap. And they insisted on scaling the walls of the keep - at the highest point - without the aid of pitons, grappling hooks, or ladders. They may as well have tried to walk in the front door.

At least they managed to kill some of the hobgoblins...
